Developing a vocabulary

Good evening,

Whenever anyone posts comments on their blog, in articles, in forum posts, or anywhere else, they are participating in what Teilhard de Chardin called the noosphere, which is the realm of human information evolution. This comaps onto Dawkins’ notion of the meme and it’s “selection of the fittest” aspects. Gregory Bateson too considered “thinking patterns” to have competitive aspects to them.

One of the chief ways that this battle gets fought is through the development of vocabulary. If someone wants to talk meaningfully about Dawkins work, for instance, they have almost no choice but to use the word “meme.”

In that sense, Dawkins’ through the marketing of ideas, which is every bit as competitive as the marketing of products and services, already has won.

Reading or participating on this site will introduce you to new and perhaps unfamiliar concepts, in part through the mechanism of vocabulary. The idea of a Wow-Field will be expanded upon over time. I will assume that you have come to understand what I mean by it and will simply discuss things using this term of art.

Wow-Fields is not the only term of art I have up my sleeve.

Part of the fun of this site will be coming to learn and experience the new vocabulary. It will open you up to a view of the world that you may find a bit mind blowing.

Stay tuned.
