Good evening,
In my last post I wrote: They use the “magic†of intelligence, guts, ingenuity, aliveness, cunningness, pleasing personality, good hygiene, good social manners, and so forth to make the magic happen..
I should also add this: When intelligent, practical magicians get ill enough – they visit the doctor. When they want to fly, they use airplanes.
When they want to get rich, they do the things necessary to get rich and they stop doing things that get in the way of that.
The trick is knowing which things are which and then having the guts to go after them and the tenacity to stay at it if the difficulty is great.
For every person who “dreams up a car” for themselves, there’s probably a million who try and fail miserably. (Can you say “statistics”?)
One final note on this and then I’ve got to get on with the practical things of living and leave those who want to find silver bullets to their own affairs…
I think that statistics may be an interesting thing. What if – I’m not saying this is true, but what if statistics apply to populations and not merely to individuals. Now supposing you have someone who hits every red light as s/he goes through traffic. That could statistically happen, couldn’t it? I mean in a truly random system, you’d have some people who seem “blessed” with good traffic conditions and others who seem “cursed” – and it would all be random at a population level. Now the question for someone who was “cursed” (please note the quote marks OK?) is how to turn lemons into lemonade. That is a matter of attitude and being open to good things.
I’d be interested in your comments.
Regards,
Bal
