The world is a poor place squared.
Two great writers died in the last two days. The first was well known generally; the other known world-wide in marketing circles.
According to Reuters, Kurt Vonnegut died apparently from brain injuries suffered after a fall at age 84.
According to his long-time friend, John Carlton, the legendary copywriter, Gary Halbert died in his sleep at age 69.
Both were amazing writers. One made a fortune by entertaining people with stories showing the absurdity of the human condition. The other made his fortune by mastering the art of persuasive writing. Both were master storytellers.
Both were decent men.
Both were giants in their respective fields.
And both will be missed by those whose lives they touched.
Like mine.
Godspeed, gentlemen. Godspeed.
