I’m working on it, but I haven’t yet settled on the terminology of Wow-Fields.
Tentatively, I think I’m going to call the opposite of a Wow-Field a Groan-Field. This would be a field where you groan intensely. Swearing is a good indication of a Groan-Field.
Let me give you two good examples of Groan-Fields that most people will relate to right away:
First, the congested freeways during rush hour in virtually any modern city.
Second, the clueless politicians who try to push the populace into a mass transit world and succeed only in creating worse congestion on freeways during rush hour in any modern city.
Now, unless I live in an idiosyncratic bubble, most people should easily understand and agree with this. Both make us groan instead of exclaim “Wow!” in a positive way.
So – for now at least: Wow-Fields and Groan-Fields.
While this site is all about Wow-Fields, developing the terminology is of primary importance. We’re on our way. :)
