Every so often I get impressed in a pleasant way by the most mundane of things…
I had a problem with my cell phone. I was receiving my voice mails as much as 4 days late.
As a Verizon customer, I figured I’d just go to their website, find their “contact us” info and let them know. But when I got there, I found that the only way to really solve my problem was to talk with someone by phone. So I called the number, pressed 3 for tech support, and got a friendly Joe named Scott.
Scott and I talked briefly, he made “a few adjustments” at his end, and sent me a test call. Within a minute, I got a new voice mail message. Success! Four-thumbs up! Wow! Thanks, Scott.
Had I been able to use the “modern” technology of email, I might have been tempted, and I’d still be waiting as we played email tag.
Sometimes old is better than new.
